The Sentinel

After spooking the rest of his pack when I entered one of the several open fields in the aptly named Washoe Meadows State Park in South Lake Tahoe, I got the chance to have a staring contest with this tough guy. As soon as his entire family was out of sight he trotted effortlessly off into the underwood. Thankfully I had him long enough to capture him on camera. Painting this complicated piece was one of my greatest challenges, but I think I honored this little guardian well.
